Davis Cone was born in Augusta, GA in 1950. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Mercer University in Macon, GA in 1972 and attended the University of Georgia in Athens, GA from 1972 to 1973.

He has since had several solo exhibitions including, “Recent Works,” Forum Gallery, New York, NY: and “Theatre Paintings: 1977-1983,” at the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens, GA and the Hunter Museum of Art in Chattanooga, TN.
His work has also been included in several landmark group exhibitions including the traveling exhibition, “Photorealism: 50 Years of Hyperrealistic Painting,” at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery in Birmingham, England and the Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn, Estonia and the Osthaus Museum Hagen in Germany, among others. Additionally he was included in “Photorealism: The Sydney & Walda Bestoff Collection,” The New Orleans Museum of Art, New Orleans, LA; “Contemporary American Realism since 1960,” at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts,” and “Shock of the Real-photorealist revisited,” at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
His work may be found in many public and private collections across the country including the High Museum of Art, Atlanta GA; Morris Museum of Art, Augusta, GA; New Orleans Museum of Art, New Orleans, LA; and Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, CT.
Davis Cone currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
