Alexandre Lamarche and Florentine Ovize are a duo of French artists who have been working together since 2006. Their artistic practice explicitly refers to the Arts & Crafts movement as an attitude in which they materialize thought in objects, giving rise to a variety of hybrid forms. In the same way, their body of work is made up of a multiplicity of media, from patterns of tapestries and ceramics to video animations, drawings and installations. This shift from one medium to another maintains a cause-effect relationship, in which motifs run eccentrically and abundantly through walls, sketches and notes.
Among the exhibitions that have shown his work we can highlight the following: FMAC in Paris, FRAC in Île-de-France, FRAC in the Pays de la Loire, FRAC Midi-Pyrénées or the Centre d’art du Parc Saint Léger, among others. They were also selected for the Open Sessions at the Drawing Center in New York in 2016.
