In a diverse practice that ranges from sculpture, drawing, video, and photography to performance and installation, Nasan Tur examines social conditions, probing the relationship between production and value and modes of communication, and their relation to power. The artist, with his interventions invites the viewer to think on them anew. He compelled attention with his somersaults, singings, shoutings he performs in streets, public squares, airports in various cities, out of blue; his work that comprises 800 different spellings of the word “capital” referring to Marx’s Capital; his videos displaying gestures and expressions of people who shot a gun for the first time in their lives. He made a video installation featuring himself while painting on an empty white wall the graffiti pieces he collected from all around Berlin, with spray paint. He performed that with Istanbul graffitis as well.
