Tim Hall Biography

Tim Hall is an international fine art photographer who made his name taking stylised, monochromatic portraits of Asian people. His most recent collections feature the people and architecture of India and the untamed landscapes of Morocco and the Sahara Desert.  Hall graduated from Manchester University with a BA in History of Art before joining Redferns Music picture library in London, working for the internationally renowned jazz photographer, David Redfern. Between 1991-1998 Hall lived in Bangkok and Hong Kong during which time he held numerous solo exhibitions, including “Hong Kong People” to mark the hand-over to China in 1997, “Hanoi People” at the Nikko Hotel, and “The People of Myanmar” at the Strand Hotel in Rangoon in 1995. He has photographed numerous people and places for various publications on Asia including several coffee-table books on the Indo China region.  Hall’s photographs can be found in various prestigious corporate collections such as Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong and London and the Prudential Corporation.  His work can be found in private collections worldwide with a diversity of clients ranging from David Tang to Mel C.  Tim Hall currently lives and works in London.
