TextaQueen completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), University of Western Australia, Perth, 1995 and a Certificate II in Arts (Interactive Multimedia), Metro Screen, Sydney in 1998.

They are drawn from life, usually in the sitter’s home or bedroom and paired with the use props, transforming a private experience into a performative display that uncovers the subject’s sexuality, secrets and desires.
TextaQueen was recently an Artist in Residence at the Gippsland Centre for Art and Design, Monash University, Victoria, 2010 and at the Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland, 2008. Solo exhibitions include Felt-tips Forever, The Arm, Brooklyn, New York, USA and Casa Del Popolo, Montreal, Canada (2006), Un-dressed-up, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Perth, Western Australia (2004) and Textanudes: Postcards from Home, 191 Gore St, Next Wave Festival, Melbourne (2004). Recent group exhibitions include The Shilo Project, Ian Potter Museum of Art, Melbourne (2009), Contemporary Australia: Optimism, Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane (2008) and A Paul Nudd Curatorial Experience, Western Exhibitions, Chicago, Illinois, USA (2007).
