Lee Hyunwoo (B. 1994) creates sculptures of foreign textures and sharp, bold shapes. The oftentimes striking images he portrays question the context that may surround certain materials, and in turn urges viewers to see them not through social meaning, but as images that exist independently.
Lee Hyunwoo graduated from Chung-Ang University in 2021, receiving a B.A. in Fine Art. He has since participated in multiple group shows at art spaces such as Gaasp, NYC; OF, Seoul; Alterside, Seoul; and Uartspace, Seoul. His solo show ‘oWo’ was held at Alterside, Seoul in 2021. Lee Hyunwoo is also the selected artist of G Gallery’s 2023 Great Exhibition program.
