About MIA&D Fair Singapore

MIA&D Fair, the photography and design art fair, conceived in Milan in 2011 by Fabio Castelli, was created with the aim of highlighting the transverse role that photography has come to play between the languages of expression of the contemporary art system. Milan Image Art Fair looks to Singapore for its international expansion and announces its first edition in the new capital of art in the South Pacific from 23rd to 26th October 2014 during the 4th Singapore International Photography Festival. The Fair will be held at Marina Bay Sands, Exhibition Centre, where it will occupy a sprawling 3,500 square meters. In Singapore the fair will include the presence 50%:50% of Asian and Western exhibitors and it is expected to attract up to 25.000 visitors.

On the occasion of its first edition in Singapore, MIA Fair, will introduce a new ‘Design' section directly connected with photography. We believe that Photography and Design Art, are both expressions of a deep contemporary artistic research.
In the last twenty years photography and design have spoken a similar language. Today photography represents not just a decorative medium, but one of the highest expressions of contemporary art, in the same way design art is considered an expression of creativity and functionality that attracts collectors.

Singapore is the right place to launch MIA&D Fair as the country continues to show a deep interest and curiosity in international events related to culture and arts.

During the month of October, Singapore will be the art hub of photography in Asia; with MIA&D Fair and SIPF providing visibility and international exposure for all the art players in photography and design.
