Galerie Tanit is celebrating Fifty years in Munich with a group exhibition titled Paper Trail—presenting a roster of works by esteemed artists united by one simple medium—paper.
Paper has been at the centre of a great deal of creativity, from the birth of ideas to their final expressions in the formation of musical, architectural, literary or visual art achievements.Paper is paradoxically often considered a medium of lesser value, fragile and temporary. However paper remains an important factor in the ongoing processes of human expression.
Works on paper have in recent years managed to regain their former glory; some artists express themselves exclusively by working with paper. In contemporary art, the public has rediscovered the importance of traditions and styles that seem to be intrinsically about working with paper materials.
In an effort to understand more about this revival of paper works, Galerie Tanit will present a large selection of pieces that through the exhibition will bear witness to the richness and longevity of 'art made from paper'.
