Melanie Oliver is a Curator at Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū. Prior, she was Senior Curator at The Dowse Art Museum and Director of The Physics Room in Ōtautahi Christchurch. She has held curatorial roles at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery and Artspace Sydney, and was Gallery Manager at Enjoy Contemporary Art Space and Blue Oyster. Melanie also has an interest in the educational potential of cultural institutions, furthered by a period spent at the National Library of New Zealand. She recently completed a PhD in Curatorial Practice at Monash University in Melbourne.
