In her artistic practice, Vera Palme reflects on the medium of painting and its reception. She addresses tensions that
lie between abstraction and representation, meaning and emptiness. She processes these tensions through paintings that convey layeredness, not least through an excessive application of paint. Vera Palme also writes poetry and fiction in English. In 2018, she published the novel "Desecration of Descent" together with Elif Saydam (Broken Dimanche Press, Berlin). She recently compiled a collection of her texts from 2016-2023 under the title "Nuts". "Immer realistischere Malerei" ("Ever more realistic painting") is Vera Palme's first solo exhibition at Galerie Buchholz.
