SIMON MORRIS

In 2002 Morris participated in SCAPE Art and industry Biennale in Christchurch. Here Morris worked collaboratively with ground staff at Jade Stadium to produce a mown image on the playing field for a cricket game between New Zealand and India. In 2003 Morris made a large scale wall drawing for ‘Past and Present’ at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongawera, this was produced by painting a line that navigated the space according to a set of rules. His works were also part of the touring project ‘painted spaces’, an international exhibition of wall drawings shown at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne, Auckland City Art Gallery and the Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh. More recently the exhibition Simon Morris: painting projects 2000-2005 was curated by William McAloon for the Physics Room.
