b. 1982, South AfricaUnathi Mkonto was born in Peddie, South Africa. Mkonto is a multi-disciplinary artist based in South Africa. His spatial practice uses art to explore the conditions of the built environment – drawing on his disciplines as both a trained architect and fashion designer. His work is informed by mark-making and surfaces in using the city as a medium. He lives and works in Cape Town.
