KEIRAN BRENNAN HINTON
b. 1992, CanadaBorn in 1992 in Toronto, Keiran Brennan Hinton received his BFA from Pratt Institute in 2014 and his MFA from Yale University in 2016. Brennan Hinton’s artistic practice primarily focuses on the act of observation, intimacy found within the home, and interiority. Starting with a limited color palette, the artist employs a mixture of colors that exist in his daily life, delicately adjusting the temperature of the light or the saturation of the shadows. Finding beauty in the mundane, Brennan Hinton chooses to capture seemingly private and personal moments that are rooted in specific art historical references. However, Brennan Hinton’s work is not based on the linear perspective or technical precision he acquired through his art education, but rather on raw sensibility.
Brennan Hinton’s recent solo exhibitions include Between the Woods and Frozen Lake, Nicolas Robert Gallery (Toronto, 2022); Day Breaks, Night Falls, Galerie Thomas Fuchs (Stuttgart, Germany, 2021); Towards Sentimentality, Charles Moffett (New York, 2021); and Una Finestra sul Cortile, Galleria Francesco Pantaleone Arte Contemporanea (Palermo, Italy, 2019). Furthermore, he has actively participated in group exhibitions mainly in the US and Canada, as well as Italy. In 2016, he created a public mural in Chappaqua, New York, co-commissioned by The Katonah Museum of Art and sherry b dessert studio.
