Korean International Art Fair (Kiaf) SEOUL is South Korea's first international art fair. Organised by the Galleries Association of Korea, the fair was originally presented in 2002 in Busan and moved its venue to Seoul in the following year. Since then, Kiaf SEOUL has returned to the city annually.
Read MoreIn 2021, Kiaf SEOUL celebrated its 20th anniversary of bringing together over 100 international contemporary art galleries to the heart of Seoul. Continuing to grow and evolve, the fair represented 210 galleries from 20 countries and territories in 2023.
Kiaf SEOUL unfolds over what has come to be known as the Seoul Art Week in September, running alongside Frieze Seoul, another major international art fair that launched in 2022 via a unique partnership between Frieze and the Galleries Association of Korea. Both fairs have been presented at COEX in the Gangnam district, the long-time venue of Kiaf SEOUL, and celebrates the multi-coloured vibrancy of contemporary art from around the world in Seoul.
Along with exceptional gallery booths and highlight exhibitions foregrounding emerging and mid-career artists, Kiaf SEOUL presents a curated programme of studio tours, panel talks, and private guided tours throughout museums and institutions in Seoul.
Also not to be missed are the Gallery Nights in the neighbourhood of Hannam, Samcheong, and Cheongdam, during which cutting-edge contemporary art galleries participate in a day-long programme of various events encompassing docent tours, teatime, and parties.
