ART SG 2026

Anchoring the main presentation is a focused selection of bronze sculptures produced in collaboration with Yogya Art Lab (YAL), featuring new works by pioneering Singaporean artist Han Sai Por, Filipino National Artist Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera, and Filipino artist Charlie Co. Local artist Suzann Victor presents Tiered Life I, a hanging aluminium sculpture that extends her long-standing engagement with the politicisation of the otherwise ordinary eggplant. From Indonesia, Yunizar unveils his latest work, Teko 1 (Teapot 1), alongside ceramist Dzikra Afifah’s debut bronze sculpture, Measure of the Eye.

The Gallery foregrounds Balinese artistic lineages through works by the late maestro Made Wianta, trailblazing artist I Gusti Ayu Kadek Murniasih, Mangu Putra, and emerging artist Jemana Murti, situating contemporary experimentation within longer histories of innovation and inquiry. New works by Indonesian artists Erizal As, Yusra Martunus, Rudi Mantofani, Uji “Hahan” Handoko Eko Saputro, Ridho Rizki, and Rosit Mulyadi further articulate the diversity of practices shaping the region today. Complementing these voices are artists to watch—Malaysia’s Kayleigh Goh and Singapore’s Loi Cai Xiang—whose fresh perspectives and inventive approaches underscore the Gallery’s commitment to championing both established and emerging talent.

As part of the fair’s PLATFORM programme, the Gallery presents the work of eminent artist Jitish Kallat at booth BP4. Taking the form of speculative abstractions, Kallat’s panoramic Palindrome / Anagram Painting 19 unfolds as an archipelago of forms, encompassing terrestrial and celestial, geological and geometric, oceanic and botanical formations.

Gajah Gallery also participates in South Asia Insights at booth SA01, presenting works by Mahalakshmi Kannappan and Russna Kaur. Singapore-based Kannappan’s practice is characterised by experimental approaches to charcoal and black lime plaster, while Kaur’s vibrant paintings are rooted in material play and textile-informed processes.

Extending this regional focus, Gajah Gallery presents a solo feature of Indonesian artist Rosit Mulyadi as part of S.E.A Focus, positioning one of Southeast Asia’s most compelling emerging voices within a dedicated platform. Mulyadi’s practice interrogates the entanglements of history, spectacle, and power through the subversion and appropriation and reworking of art-historical imagery. Featuring a selection of new and previously unseen works, the presentation advances his ongoing inquiry into development, authorship, and the conditions through which artistic canons are constructed and circulated.

Through a presentation that privileges dialogue across generations, geographies, and material vocabularies, Gajah Gallery’s participation at ART SG 2026 asserts one of its most expansive statements to date, affirming its long-term commitment to experimentation, collaboration, and the global resonance of Southeast Asian art.
