Mexico City.- Terreno Baldío Arte presents the exhibition La amplitud del espectro de la luz by artist Víctor del Castillo (Mexico City, 1976) that can be visited both virtually and physically from November 13, 2020.
Black and white photography leads Víctor del Castillo to experiment around the idea of light as a generator of life and chaos, a concept on which his work revolves.
While exploring different materials, he has generated a characteristic visual language that he continues to develop to this day, one which synthesizes modules on a great variety of surfaces and techniques, among which ceramics and crayons on grid paper stand out.
This exhibition presents small sculptures and xylography, up to two-dimensional geometry, always alluding to the traditional Mexican colors, the weavings and fabrics of various communities and places, incorporating them to his research on light, volume, time and melody, integrating the accident as an important part of his finished work.
The idea is simple, but the result is complex: looking for new ways to see color across the spectrum of light.
