The Mask Project is a collaboration between THK Gallery artists Nonzuzo Gxekwa and Pierre le Riche, created during the lockdown for COVID-19 in South Africa. Le Riche, who works predominantly with fabrics and textiles, created six textile masks that were then incorporated by Gxekwa in her photographs. Each mask has an accompanying photograph in an edition of 10 with two artist’s proofs. The first edition of each photograph is sold together with the accompanying mask in a bespoke perspex display case, with the remaining editioned photographs sold individually. Courtesy THK Gallery.
