Art and alchemy meet in equal measure for Casey Reas' first solo exhibition with Unit, _Wet and Saturated Process. _Colliding historic photographic practices with machine-learning and generative AI, the artist's interdisciplinary picture-making reveals novel approaches to understanding the intricacies of the natural world. In collaboration with Erika Weitz, an expert in 19th century wet-plate collodion photography, Reas transforms his machine-generated images into analogue abstractions, probing our perception on the interconnectedness between natural, artificial and human intelligence. About the Artist

Casey Reas (b.1972) is an American artist and educator currently based in Los Angeles. His work focuses on examining concepts through the contemporary lens of software, spanning small works on paper and urban-scale installations. In 2001, he co-founded Processing, an open-source programming language and environment for the visual arts. He also co-created Feral File, an online platform for exhibiting and collecting digital art.
