ART DÜSSELDORF 2022

Coinciding with the fair the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, Remagen is presenting the solo exhibition Fluidity by Bettina Pousttchi. Upcoming solo exhibitions will be at the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn and the Sculpture Park Waldfrieden, Wuppertal.

Bettina Pousttchi predominantly works with sculpture and photography. The sculptures are often made of mechanically deformed street furniture like crash barriers and bollards that demarcate public space and direct our movement, yet often are unnoticed. In the sequential use of the same functional objects resides a conceptual connection to Minimal Art and a reference to Marcel Duchamp‘s Readymades. The wall reliefs made from cut steel provide a deeper insight into the artist’s interest in the structures of public space. They are based on photographs of road markings. The installation at Art Düsseldorf invites you to follow the dynamic rhythm of Bettina Pousttchi’s trendsetting works and offers an independent perspective and understanding of sculpture and public space.
