Press Release

Drawing inspiration from South Asian textile traditions, Sabherwal pushes the boundaries between painting and sculpture by methodically deconstructing her canvases. Through this process she transforms solid surfaces into ethereal, textile-like planes where images seem to materialize and dissolve simultaneously. This manipulation of material, combined with her airbrush technique, creates works that float between presence and absence, echoing the fluid nature of mythology itself.
