Press Release

On view from 11–13 March 2022, the booth features recent works by the AI artist, Yuma Kishi. From a first-ever wall installation, I’M DEAD, to new editions to Kishi’s widely popular job series, this exhibition is the boldest and most provocative show of the artist’s works to date.

In addition, the emerging AI artist’s first-ever anthology, Yuma Kishi / Imaginary Bones, will be released on March 28. Containing English and Japanese essays by various collaborators, as well as major figures and artists of the Japanese art scene, the book is a perfect introduction to the young artist’s evolving oeuvre.

About the Artist

Yuma Kishi considers AI, not as something that imitates people, but as an alien intelligence from another dimension. By installing this intelligence in his own body and lending it as a substitute, he creates works that place digital intelligence and the analog body in a parallel relationship.
