Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1987, Anne Kagioka Rigoulet combines fabric collage and classical mural techniques to express the fluid energy of water reflections, incorporating areas that not only protrude from but also recede into the perceived “surface” of the painting. Born in New York City in 1980, Jason Bereswill brings his deep interest in nature, sports, travel, and art history to life in his vibrant landscape paintings, often inspired by specific places he visited in person. Born in Osaka in 1989, Takuro Tamura recontextualizes quotidian objects and materials often related to transportation—such as asphalt or road signs—and strips them of their original functions to imbue them with new meaning. Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1986, Keisuke Tada will present new examples from Paintings of incomplete remains, a series of what initially appears to be old European landscape paintings, but are in fact artificially weathered depictions of digital realms.
