Nevin Aladağ was born in Van, Turkey in 1972, going on to study sculpture at the Academie of Fine Arts in Munich. She has gained international attention for her installations, video works and performances and was the recipient of George Maciunas Prize in 2004 as well as receiving several grants and residencies.
Her installations, video works and performances have been widely shown at numerous international institutions, museums and biennials, including; Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo – MOT, Japan (2011); Haus der Kunst Munich, Germany (2011); The Hayward Gallery, London, UK (2010); XIV Biennale Internazionale di Sculptura, Carrara, Italy (2010); 11th International İstanbul Biennial, Turkey (2009); Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Germany (2009); 8th Taipei Biennial, Taiwan (2008); Kunsthaus Zurich, Switzerland (2008); Kunsthalle Fridericianum, Kassel, Germany (2006) and Museo Tamayo in Mexico City, Mexico (2006).
