Xin Liu (b. 1991 in Xinjiang/China) is an artist and engineer, whose research-based projects range from performances, apparatus, installations to scientific experiments and academic papers. She received her BE in Measurement, Control Technology and Instrument from Tsinghua University, an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her Masters from MIT Media Lab in 2017. She is the recipient of the Van Lier Fellowship from Museum of Arts and Design in New York and the Arts Curator in Space Exploration Initiative in MIT Media Lab. She has shown her work at Ars Electronica, Boston Museum of Fine Art , Sundance Film Festival, The Walker Art Center, and OCAT Shanghai, among others.
