Taoyuan International Art Award Announces 2025 Finalists

Twelve artists and collaboratives have been shortlisted for the third edition of the biennial art prize.
Taiwan’s Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts (TMoFA) has announced the nominees for the 2025 Taoyuan International Art Award.
The finalists include individuals and collaboratives from Taiwan and around the globe.
The Taiwanese nominees are: Tsai Yu Ting and two duos—Lin Yan Xiang and Wang Cheng Hsiang, and “Working Hard”, Wen Ying She and Po-Yu Kuo.
The shortlisted artists from the wider region are Malaysia’s Lee Tek Khean, a Thai collaborative comprising Chulayarnnon Siriphol, Kasamaponn Saengsuratham, Arjin Thongyuukong, and Krongpong Langkhapin; China’s Nut Brother and Japan’s Aisuke Kondo, Goh Uozumi, and duo “couch”, Hiroki Miyazaki and Reiko Asao.
The nominees from further afield are American duo Kevin Corcoran and Jorge Bachmann, Belgian duo Robbe Maes and Reynout Dekimpe, and Canada’s Erdem Taşdelen.
This year’s award attracted a total of 1,161 submissions from 83 countries, up 60% from the previous edition.
The nominees were selected by an international jury convened by Chang Chih Min, Acting Director of TMoFA. The preliminary review was conducted by: Abby Chen, Head of Contemporary Art Department at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco; Reuben Keehan, Curator, Contemporary Asian Art at QAGOMA; Kim Sunjung, Artistic Director of Art Sonje Center; Wang Po-Wei, Artistic Director of Digital Art Foundation, Taiwan; and Lu Pei-Yi, Associate Professor at National Taipei University of Education.
The finalists’ works will be displayed at the Taoyuan Arts Center from 26 March to 18 May 2025. The winners will be announced at the exhibition in March 2025.
