LUXEMBOURG ART WEEK 2024

For Luxembourg Art Week 2024, Alzueta Gallery invites the viewer on a journey through imaginary worlds, dreams, and unreal dimensions, presented by seven artists whose works explore and challenge the boundaries between reality and fantasy.

French artist Laurent Martin Lo transforms bamboo into sculptures that capture the essence of dreams and spirituality. His harmonious structures suggest the fluidity and movement of dreams, creating an intimate dialogue between nature and the unreal. Following him, Andrea Torres Balaguer, with her exploration of the relationship between femininity and nature through symbolism and dream transcription, experiments with the boundaries between reality and fiction. Her photographs, influenced by surrealism and psychoanalysis, capture moments where the conscious and subconscious meet, creating images that seem to be snapshots of a lucid dream.

Italian artist Mirco Marchelli, with his geometric compositions and vibrant colors, transports us to lively and meditative scenarios, distancing us from everyday life and bringing us to a dimension of pleasure and hedonistic contemplation. Meanwhile, from Germany, Sabine Finkenauer uses simple and geometric forms to create a visual space that recalls the simplicity and purity of childhood dreams and fantasy, inviting a playful and nostalgic exploration of the imaginary world.

Spanish artist Alba Suau takes us to a meditative state through her aimless walks, translated into paintings and installations that capture ephemeral moments and the serenity of wandering, revealing a different reality accessible only through inactivity, evoking a dreamlike atmosphere. Bruno Ollé, also from Barcelona, explores individual memory and found objects, creating installations that resemble scenes from a dream or fragmented memories, inviting the viewer to lose themselves in a space where fantasy and memory intertwine.

Finally, Claudia Valsells, immerses us in dreamlike landscapes through her mastery of color, creating emotional atmospheres that act as a bridge to the unreal and the fantastic.

This is an immersive experience that transports the viewer to parallel universes where imagination and reality intertwine. Through vibrant colors, dreamlike forms, natural materials, and found objects, this exhibition invites us to explore diverse interpretations of fantasy and unreality, where the impossible becomes possible, and the beauty of the unreal invites us to dream while awake.
