ART COLLABORATION KYOTO 2024

Born in Goslar, Germany in 1961, Regine Schumann now resides and works in Cologne, Germany. She got Meisterschülerin from Roland Dörfler at Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Braunschweig in 1989. In 2000 she stayed in Tokyo with the scholarship from Land NRW. Schumann creates art works positioning between painting and three dimensional object using acrylic color plates specially produced for her. The transformations of her work, perceptible in different light moods as daylight, artificial light or black light enable an ever-changing viewing experience and accentuate the relation of color, light and surrounding space, the synchronicity of visible and invisible. Her works look playful and poetic although she uses artificial and industrial materials and simple forms. In addition, we will also make a presentation of works by a Japanese painter Aki Tsukamoto, which are pop and colorful on the outside walls
