ARCOmadrid 2016 will celebrate its 35th anniversary February 24–28. To mark the occasion, the fair has invited 35 major international galleries to participate in a special program entitled Imagining Alternative Futures, bringing together the galleries that over the years have played key roles in establishing ARCOmadrid as a nexus for international art world encounters. In addition to this extraordinary grouping of leading and historic galleries, ARCOmadrid 2016 will feature 169 galleries from around the world in the fair’s General Programme and nearly 40 galleries in the Solo Projects and Opening special sections, confirming ARCOmadrid’s ongoing role as a place where artistic discourse and the art market meet at the crossroads between Europe and Latin America, while also reflecting the strength of the rebounding Spanish economy.
