FRIEZE SEOUL

PKM Gallery proudly presents selected artworks by renowned artists who represent Korean modern and contemporary art and accomplished artists who lead the international art scene. For Korean artists, paintings by Yun Hyong-keun whose works are the focal point of Dansaekhwa movement, and ‘Tak’ paper works by Chung Chang-Sup, who is also part of the first generation of Dansaekhwa like Yun and combines the echoes of Western abstraction and East-Asian painting, will be displayed at Frieze Seoul. Among the masters representing Korean Art in the late 20th century, the booth sheds light on the past and the present works in Korean Art by introducing multi-media works by Koo Jeong A, a young artist who leads the Korean contemporary art scene and is recognised internationally for her unique agility, paintings by Young Do Jeong who interprets human’s intuitive experience as his own icon through psychoanalytic interpretation, and lastly paintings by Bek Hyunjin which have been carried out on impulse by moving his body to the rhythm of action. For international artists, paintings and sculptures by Olafur Eliasson who has taken an active part in the international stage with quasi-scientific artworks which are inspired from nature, and paintings by Peppi Bottrop who depict time and space of the history which the artist had encountered based on his experiences and recollection using brittle and black materials such as graphite, charcoal, and coal, will be presented together.
