Vida Heydari Contemporary is pleased to announce the opening of our latest exhibition, Green Weapons, a solo exhibition by Sara Abbasian.
In her latest body of work, Sara Abbasian examines camouflage as both a military strategy and a visual language of power. Rooted in warfare, camouflage functions as a method of survival—concealing weapons to delay detection, protect the shooter’s position, and maintain tactical superiority. Through this lens, invisibility becomes an active force rather than an absence.
Abbasian’s work isolates and recontextualizes weapon camouflage systems, drawing attention to their reliance on environmental alignment—green and brown for forests, beige for deserts, white and grey for snow. By foregrounding these coded aesthetics, the artist questions how violence is hidden in plain sight and how familiarity masks threat.
Camouflage emerges as a paradoxical condition: an aesthetic of disappearance that enables force, control, and the quiet persistence of danger.
The exhibition will preview on Saturday, 7 March 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Vida Heydari Contemporary.
