Press Release

Whitestone Gallery Seoul is pleased to present Essence of Love, a solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Kento Senga. Widely recognised as a member of the Japanese idol group Kis-My-Ft2, Senga has steadily expanded his creative practice into visual art, combining painting sculpture, and character-based storytelling. This exhibition marks an important step in his evolving artistic journey, offering a thoughtful exploration of love as a powerful and dynamic emotional force.

In Essence of Love, Senga presents a series of works that examine how love manifests through a wide spectrum of emotions – joy, anticipation, anxiety, and vulnerability. Rather than portraying love as a static or idealised concept, he approached it as an active, generative energy that emerges in moments of genuine human connection. His original character, FiNGA, serves as a recurring figure throughout the exhibition, embodying this emotional range with playful expressiveness and symbolic depth.

Senga’s painterly style is rooted in spontaneity and gesture, allowing instinct and movement to guide each work’s development. Layered brushwork, animated lines, and sculptural forms come together to evoke the intensity and unpredictability of emotional experience. Drawing on his background in choreography and performance, his artworks pulse with rhythm and feeling, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and connect.

The exhibition extends across Whitestone Gallery Seoul’s 1F and 4F spaces, creating an immersive environment where Senga’s universe – what he refers to as FiNGAiSM – unfold through multiple media. The result is a celebration of creativity driven by emotion, memory, and the ongoing search for meaningful expression.

This exhibition coincides with a solo show by actor and artist Park Kiwong, titled FUTURESUPERHERO, on view in the B1 gallery space. Together, the two exhibitions celebrate the growing creative practices of artist-entertainers, each offering distinct yet complementary visions that span performance, identity, and imagination.
