Allen Ruppersberg lives and works in New York and Santa Monica, California. A forthcoming solo exhibition of his work will open May 2, 2024 at Greene Naftali, New York. Recent solo exhibitions include Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2018), which traveled to Hammer Museum, Los Angeles in 2019; Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art, Winnipeg, Canada (2016); Skirball Culture Center, Los Angeles (2015); Greene Naftali, New York (2014); MFC-Michèle Didier, Paris (2014); Greengrassi, London (2014); WIELS, Brussels (2014); and The Art Institute of Chicago (2012).
His work is in the collections of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive; Denver Art Museum; Hessel Museum of Art, Annandale-on-Hudson, NY; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Milwaukee Art Museum, Wisconsin; Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt; Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, among others.
