Barrão's artistic practice begins with the selection of objects that, once bought during his extensive quests around town, are carefully categorized in the studio according to their color, function, size, or type. Little by little, each sculpture is composed like a puzzle, in which diverse parts end up becoming one. Functional pieces such as cups and vases are combined with decorative and kitsch objects, such as birds and dogs. The artist's peculiar humor pervades the entire process, breathing new life into the objects.
