Christopher Perkins taught at the Wellington Technical College (1929-1934), bringing an experience of Post-Impressionism to New Zealand art that was realised in his paintings. His work influenced the development of New Zealand modern art and was a key element in the period now known as Regionalism in the 1930s.
He exhibited regularly with the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts in Wellington from 1929 to 1933.
Perkins was born in England and attended the Slade School of Art (1909-1911). His work is held in the collection of the Auckland Art Gallery.
