Klas Ernflo is an interdisciplinary artist, working with multiple materials and embracing an œuvre which includes painting and drawings as much as sculptures and textiles.
Read MoreEven though during his work process every material requires a different approach and handling, they all end up forming part of the same pictorial language. His practice is mostly dominated by organic forms and constant references to nature, honoring the artist's Nordic (Swedish) origins that accompany him in his daily life in Barcelona.
Both the selection of colors and the execution of his strokes reflect a calm and neat creative process and the need to pass along a message in a quiet and orderly manner. Starting with observation, his creative process is careful and introspective, resulting in the materialization of images arising from within himself. To contemplate his works is like reading what his mind processes when observing his surroundings: art, daily life, memories, desires, fiction, everything is interwoven in agraphic story. The shapes, figures and objects are not only showcasing a literal symbology, but at the same time allow themselves to be read and interpreted in a freeand open way, inviting the viewer on an imaginary journey.
"Lately I have been trying to change the pace of work, being a little faster and less persistent allows me to access a freer and braver path."
