Troika
Testing Time
Water, electronics, LEDs
2014
Testing Time is an installation in which a stream of water is brought to a halt, and time is visibly broken into distinct instances. In their first incorporation of water in a sculptural form, Troika subvert the element’s innate indifference to human presence, disrupting its potential force by negating its natural momentum. This form of intervention was developed and replicated in a larger scale in Limits of a Known Territory (2015), a site-specific installation in which multiple streams of water are choreographed to behave in unfamiliar and illogical ways.
