Miami's hectic week of international art fairs—which included Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Miami, CONTEXT Art Miami, and Untitled Art Miami Beach—saw several galleries show artists freshly added to their rosters.

New York's Kasmin gallery presented works by Abstract Expressionist Robert Motherwell at Art Basel Miami Beach after announcing sole representation of his estate at the start of November.

Collin Sekajugo, made his debut at Blum & Poe's booth the same week he joined the gallery. Sekajugo's colourful, socially poignant portraits were shown at Uganda's first national Pavilion for the Venice Biennale this year.

Jenna Gribbon, known for her confronting, intimate portraits, showed with both David Kordansky, who she joined in mid-November, and Massimo De Carlo, who co-represent her in Milan.

Massimo De Carlo also announced their own new artist, young Chinese painter Wang Xiyao, in November.

Another Chinese painter, Li Hei Di, showed in Miami with Hollywood's Kohn Gallery. She says her seductive works capture 'everything around sex' but 'nothing to do with the bland, heteronormative fucking.'

Morán Morán presented works by American sculptor Oscar Tuazon, while Timothy Taylor showed a painting by Thai artist Jiab Prachakul, who joined the gallery mid-month.

Hollis Taggart, meanwhile, added a trio of first generation abstract expressionists to their roster in late November—Sheila Isham, Norman Carton, Albert Kotin—all of whom showed in their booth at Art Miami.

While they didn't show with new galleries in Miami, other recent signings include Andrea Fraser who ended a ten-year break from commercial galleries to join Marian Goodman, Hugo Boss Prize Winner Deana Lawson who is now co-represented by Gagosian, and Caleb Hahne Quintana who joined L.A. Gallery Anat Ebgi.

Mathematically-inspired artist Timo Nasseri joined Dubai gallery Lawrie Shabibi, and Jim Isermann, who marries minimalism and abstraction with utilitarian design, joined Miles McEnery. —[O]
