The Chiba City Arts Triennale 2025 is pleased to announce the open call for its ‘Social Dive’ Artist-in-Residence (AiR) programme.

Selected artists will receive round-trip airfare to Japan, accommodation in Chiba City, a production budget, and a city-based facility as their creative hub.

Successful applicants to the open call will have the opportunity to develop their project and exhibit as one of the featured artists at the Chiba City Arts Triennale 2025.

Chiba City, located in Chiba Prefecture, is one of the major cities in the Kanto Region, approximately 40 minutes by train from Tokyo Station. ‘Social Dive’ invites artists to immerse themselves in Chiba City and connect with its community through their art. We seek artists who embrace community engagement and collaboration to highlight the city’s rich culture.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate originality and vitality throughout the entire creative process. The Chiba City Arts Triennale 2025 will provide comprehensive support for these projects.

We encourage applications from ambitious artists working in a variety of disciplines.

Information for applicants can be found here.
