Press Release

A2Z Art Gallery is very pround to welcome you at ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair 2021, to introduce you a selection of artworks from 3 Japanese artists and 2 Chinese artists.

On the occasion of ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair 2021, A2Z Art Gallery is proud and happy to present on booth E31 a selection reflecting its editorial line: to discover contemporary Asian art. The public will discover 2 artists coming from China (Yang Mian and Li Donglu) and 3 artists coming from Japan (Shiori Eda, Takashi Hara and Tatsuhito Horikoshi).

Li Donglu’s landscapes invite the public to experience the so-called power in China, the 造 物, a divine force at the origin of the creation of the Universe.

Yang Mian explores the human visual democracy, using the three primary colors of light, red, green and blue. He invites the audience to use their retinas to distinguish the images and draw results based on optics, neurology, physics and other scientific aspects.

Tatsuhito Horikoshi explores the impact of the image, in particular of social networks, on society, which tend to disempower and infantilize the new generations.

Takashi Hara is based on the motif of the pig playing the role of intercessor between our animal and intellectual condition. The figure of the pig becomes human and questions the rhythm of the artist’s thoughts and dreams. In a symbiotic relationship with their surroundings,

Shiori Eda’s painted women seek their place in the eternal and universal balance of the “One” and the “All”, which human-beings maintain a difficult and ambiguous relationship with their desire and impulse in searching for happiness and freedom.
