Press Release

Galerie A2Z is delighted to present Lê Thúy’s new solo exhibition Desolation (Désolation), from 1 February 2024 to 24 February 2024 at 24 rue de l’Échaudé, Paris 6e.

For Lê Thúy, human beings have lost their connection with the earth in their incessant quest to make it their own. A graduate of the University of Fine Arts in Vietnam, the artist sees her work as a witness to present times, illustrating contemporary events through her personal prism and her use of traditional Vietnamese techniques. Through her work, she seeks to express the anguish felt by those who feel marginalised by modern society. In her new solo exhibition, Desolation, the artist presents her paintings on silk using a masterful, delicate technique. She formulates the muted echoes left by the destitute, evoking a range of current societal concerns such as natural degradation, environmental destruction, deadly pandemics, war and the ethical decay of humanity. What is happening to the relationship between nature and humanity in the Anthropocene era?
