We are pleased to announce Nuria Maria’s new solo exhibition ’Blues Rouge’, opening 17 September in Milan. Nuria Maria explores a form of abstract impressionism that seeks to capture fleeting moments of contemporary life. Her paintings achieve a striking balance of familiar visual elements through a commitment to abstraction.

“A pleasant silent calmth in a cool room amidst the heat of the Summer - Blues Rouge describes the warm blues in the cool shades and the light in the windows. Nature and old stone. Stillifes, drawings, big stretched out landscapes and architectural details. Abstracted, detailed. Old versus new. Noise versus quiet. A warm calmth. A comfortable, positive melancholy. Inside versus outside. An appreciation for the old and a lust for the new. Like a piano in a room played into the warmth of the seasons. Blues Rouge.”

About the Artist

Growing up in a family of artists, Nuria Maria was born in the Netherlands in 1990 and art was always around for her. After multiple visits to Italy, she decided to study what she loves most in life.
