Emanuela Fiorelli was born in Rome in 1970, where she lives and works. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1993. Between 1998 and 2001, she is divided between Turkey, Poland and the United States, thanks to a scholarship. Her research is expressed in the complexity of the construction of the work: an alternation of fullness and emptiness that creates a spatial illusion, itself dominated by a conceptual rigor. Thus develops an original and intriguing relationship with mathematics, by virtue of which geometric shapes give life to surfaces made of threads according to a calculated organization, in search of a spatial harmony. Since the early 2000s, her work has been recognized with numerous awards, such as the painting prize of the National Academy of San Luca in 2004 or the Aletti ArtVerona prize in 2010, and is the object of exhibition as the Fourteenth Quadrennial of Naples, at the Karlsruhe Biennale of Art in Frankfurt, or the Italian Cultural Institute in Lima, Peru, and more recently at the Cultural Center of Contemporary Art in the municipality of Argenta. The Denise René Gallery has exhibited her work regularly since 2013. This online exhibition is showing 8 works with elastic thread that creates a spatial illusion and disturb the vision.
