Established in Busan in 2010, Mo J Gallery has been located in Hannam-dong, Seoul since June 2020. Dedicated to the furthering of fine art, as well as fostering conversations between the general public and contemporary art, Mo J Gallery has exhibited and built a collection of works by modern and contemporary artists.
On Mo J Gallery’s roster are contemporary painters and sculptors including Donald Sultan, recognised for his large-scale still life paintings of flowers; J Young, whose ‘Moment’ series of paintings saw the artist build such materials as hanji on panel and canvas; and Nigel Hall, known for his abstract steel and aluminium sculptures of interlocking circles.
Mo J Gallery also houses a collection of artworks, ranging from the early 20th century to the present, by leading artists including Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, Frank Stella, Sol LeWitt, Richard Serra, Park Seo-Bo, Kim Tschang-Yeul, Lee Ufan, Georg Baselitz, Daniel Buren, Damien Hirst, and Oscar Murillo.
Since opening its doors to the public in 2010, Mo J Gallery has regularly organised solo and two-person exhibitions. Themed group exhibitions, often based on the gallery’s collection, have included Exhibition of Spanish Artists (2018); West meets East by emerging artists of Asia and Europe (2017); and Collection Project ‘Encounter of Korean Minimalism Artists and Contemporary Art’ (2011).
Mo J Gallery participates in international art fairs including Art Busan; Art Cologne; Artgenève; Art Paris; and India Art Fair.
