Fabienne Levy has decided to create different dialogues within the booth. As gender equality in the Arts has become a pressing theme in the contemporary art world, it seems clear that despite efforts to change, much still needs to be done.
Vanessa Safavi, Norbert Bisky, Rebecca Brodskis and Tang Shuo reflect on identity, gender, and societal norms, challenging established boundaries and stereotypes. These artists are not only creators but also advocates for change, contributing to a broader dialogue about gender equality and diversity in the arts.
Norbert Bisky explores themes of identity and personal experiences, translating them into vivid figurative paintings that touch on beauty and sexuality. In these works, the artist takes a journey on what could mean acceptance or body transformation, and not accepting gender boundaries. Vanessa Safavi delves into the dynamics of genders and swaps the traditional roles. Her pieces speak with humour and gravity about the importance of our bodies and their forms. Questions of sexuality clash with established standards of physicality. Tang Shuo sheds light on domestic violence and cultural norms. His art reflects his own family's experiences, underlining the desire for control and the persistence of outdated traditions. Rebecca Brodskis' paintings open a dialogue on gender similitude and distinctions.
