√K Contemporary's inaugural participation at Art Basel Hong Kong showcases the works of Japanese avant-grade calligrapher and pioneer, Nankoku Hidai.
Taking an educational stance to its presentation, the Insights sector presentation features historical resources as part of its exhibition alongside a wide range of works that span the most active years of the artist's career.
Following the gallery's widely acclaimed 2022-2023 Nankoku Exhibition, the presentation aims to bring the artist's works back to the spotlight of the international art scene. Through the global platform of Art Basel Hong Kong, the exhibition seeks to present not only the artist's works, but the fruits of his legacy as an educator, artist, and early leader of the Japanese avant-garde calligraphy movement.
