PKM Gallery is pleased to present works by ten artists at Art Busan 2025: Bek Hyunjin, Chung Chang-Sup, Chung Hyun,Jorge Pardo, SAMBYPEN, Wonwoo Lee, Yoo Youngkuk, Young Do Jeong, Young In Hong, and Yun Hyong-keun. Eachof these artists has developed a distinct visual language across various media. Their practices offer rich and variedperspectives on the sensibility, materiality, and structure of contemporary art.

Bek Hyunjin works across painting, music, and writing, creating a body of work that merges emotion, language,symbolism, and improvisation into a singular expression. SAMBYPEN presents works that build upon the themes ofhis solo exhibition LAZY, currently on view at PKM Gallery. Merging imagery from popular culture, classic painting,and iconic characters, he constructs a witty visual language that resonates with contemporary viewers.

Yoo Youngkuk and Yun Hyong-keun are seminal figures in Korean abstraction and Dansaekhwa. Through a sustainedexploration of form, their works embody the spiritual and philosophical dimensions of painting. Yoo reconstructsnatural motifs through geometric abstraction and is recognized as a pioneer of Korean abstract art, while Yunestablishes the ethos of Dansaekhwa through layered brushstrokes and restrained palettes. Wonwoo Leereinterprets language and material through sculptures that subvert familiar perceptions of everyday things, andYoung Do Jeong builds emotional rhythm and amplitude through repeated lines and layered colour, evoking subtleintensities across the canvas.

Chung Chang-Sup reveals a distinct painterly language through material experimentation with hanji and acrylic, whileChung Hyun explores the layers of human existence and memory through sculpture and drawing. Young In Hongreflects on authorship and artistic authority through embroidered graffiti, and Jorge Pardo presents paintings thattraverse the boundary between utility and form, proposing new possibilities for artistic expansion.

The presentation at Art Busan 2025 brings together artists of different generations and backgrounds, each rooted ina deep understanding of material and a commitment to formal experimentation. Through their practices, the boothproposes new potentialities for visual language. By highlighting artists at the forefront of contemporary art, thepresentation offers a multi-dimensional view of how form and aesthetics engage with the world, delivering anexpanded spectrum of contemporary art to the audience.
