Born in 1972, the South Korean artist experiments with various genres of the arts including fine art, music, film and literature, has garnered attention for bringing forth paintings and drawings that reveal his artistic sensitivity and ability to use multi layers of visual languages. To Bek, painting is one of the ways he actualizes his steadfast aesthetic views and interests. Bek has held solo and group exhibitions in Seoul, England, Germany and Italy. His artworks have been shown in major art institutions including National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, Korea; PLATEAU, Seoul; Art Sonje Center, Seoul; Sungkok Art Museum, Seoul; Doosan Gallery, Seoul; Minsheng Art Museum, Shanghai; and Michael Horbach Foundation, Koln. He is also well-known as the vocalist of a legendary indie band, Uhuhboo Project, and has recently formed a duo under the name Bangbekwith music director Bang Jun-seok.
