Press Release
Earlier this January, STPI hosted a stellar line-up of artists - Rirkrit Tiravanija, Carsten Höller, Tobias Rehberger and Anri Sala - to take up a specially crafted residency with an exhibition slated for 2016.

In his own individual pursuit, Höller produced the following works with the STPI Workshop, which are now on exhibit at the Arsenale, 56th Venice Biennale. Titled Slide House Project, these photographs are intimately related to the giant spiral slides that Höller is well-known for. In 2006, Höller installed five slides in Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, encouraging visitor interaction by means of sliding down these structures of metal and fibreglass. More recently, Isomeric Slides was installed outside the Hayward Gallery in London, uncoiling down the exterior of the gallery as a novel way of re-entering the real world outside.

Höller's past training as a scientist is evident in his art, concentrating particularly on the nature of human relationships. Often creating situations that alter our interaction with the world, Höller explores human relations and perceptions through participatory works that prompt us to reimagine the way we move through the world.
