Victoria Miro is delighted to return to Frieze New York with new, recent and historical works by Jules de Balincourt, Hernan Bas, María Berrío, Inka Essenhigh, Eric Fischl, Chantal Joffe, Doron Langberg, Alice Neel, Chris Ofili, Celia Paul, Grayson Perry, Paula Rego, Sarah Sze and Flora Yukhnovich.

Our presentation this year explores connections to writers and literature: Works by Chris Ofilidevelop the artist’s relationship with William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice(1603–04); among paintings by Chantal Joffe is a recent, large-scale portrait of the art critic andwriter Hettie Judah; paintings by Celia Paul expand upon the artist’s deep connection with theBrontë siblings. A further theme is New York itself, with works by artists based in or inspired by the city, including a major historical work, Marathon (Running II), by Paula Rego, which was prompted by the dramas of city life she encountered on a visit in the early 1980s.
