Press Release

ART OF MIKU, a Hatsune Miku contemporary art exhibition, has traveled overseas to Taipei for the first time, officially debuting at Whitestone Gallery Taipei as the inaugural stop of its international exhibition. This exhibition brings together 44 contemporary artists from around the world to present their creative works. Featured cross-disciplinary collaborations include British lobster artist Philip Colbert, visual designer Kosuke Kawamura, illustrator Katsuya Terada, and graffiti artist Aruta Soup, as well as renowned local artists Jun-T Lai, Lo Chan-Peng, Chang Tengyuan, Liang Yu-Ning, and K. Tsai CAI & YiChi. Showcasing more than 80 newly created works, ART OF MIKI-Taipei Exhibition marks the largest lineup and scale in the project’s history. The exhibition offers an immersive sensory experience that explores the dynamic intersection of virtual character culture and contemporary art, revealing new creative possibilities through the convergence of digital imagination and artistic expression.

ART OF MIKU is a contemporary art project centered around the virtual singer Hatsune Miku and the other characters of “Piapro Characters.” Since its debut exhibition in Japan in 2024, the project has garnered enthusiastic acclaim and widespread attention. Through diverse artistic approaches and mediums, the participating artists deconstruct and reinterpret virtual symbols familiar to the public, further exploring the emotional connections and narrative possibilities embedded within character culture, while bringing artistic practice closer to everyday life. To offer a more complete and immersive viewing experience, the exhibition is specially divided into two stages, each presenting the brilliant creations of different artists. Through these distinct presentations, visitors are invited to experience the unique charm of virtual characters from an artistic perspective. Online booking required for entry and a selection of original merchandise created exclusively for the Taipei exhibition will be available throughout the exhibition. The opening days of each exhibition stage, July 31 and August 28, will be held as VIP Preview Days, with admission limited to 150 VIP guests per day. VIP attendees will receive priority purchasing access to exhibited artworks and exclusive exhibition merchandise, along with exquisite on-site catering services. An exclusive art talk will also be held, offering a chance to interact closely with the artists.
